It is difficult to estimate a price for the repatriation of a deceased person for the simple reason that some states, even if they are signatories to international agreements, the specifics of working on sealing the coffin and obtaining the necessary certificates differ quite a lot, the same countries.

Another reason why setting a price (cost) is difficult would be the cause and place of death.

For example, if a person has died at the hospital and the cause of death is known through diagnosis and treatment in that medical institution, then usually the dead body is transported to the hospital morgue where the medical certificate of death is then obtained. However, in cases where the death occurred on the street, at work or at home, then the body of the deceased person is transported to the morgue of the forensic institute to determine the cause of death. The file is then sent to the police or prosecutor’s office of that locality, from where the documents and the necessary permission for repatriation are to be collected.
